Montessori inspired Early Education Preschool activity App, developed with collaboration of MACTE certified Montessori Educators and Mother's who send their early learners to Montessori Schools. The activities are divided into the 3 categories: Sensoral (top row), Language (middle row) and Mathematics (bottom row). This App is a learning tool where parents and children interact and perform the different activities together. The design is very simple on purpose. Children learn better and are able to concentrate on the task at hand with simple, straightforward graphics and learning aids. Many of the activities the child will be able to understand how to do upon first glance (ie puzzle activity). Other activities they might need help with the first couple of times (i.e. Sound Boards). With the help of a parent guiding them through an activity, the child should be able to eventually do it on their own, helping them gain confidence and independence. Montessori uses a very tactile and sensorial learning process. This app cannot capture that complete experience, but it is a great way for young learners to practice their Montessori tasks or introduce them to some of the different learning tools available to them through Montessori. Sensoral Activities: Pink Tower: The child stacks the pink cubes from largest to smallest. The purpose of the Montessori Pink Tower is to develop visual discrimination of size in 3D, which will then help them understand mathematical concepts like geometry, volume and decimals. Color Palette: Child organizes the color swatches from darkest to lightest. Helps with the discernment of the color spectrum and prepares the Child for Art. Metal Insets: Child places the correct geometrical shapes into the corresponding outline. Helps with shape recognition and prepares the child for geometry and geometric conceps. Language Activities: Sand Paper Letters: Child traces the letter with finger. The letters have a sand paper texted background to mimic traditional Sand Paper Letters. True to traditional Montessori practice, Vowels have a Blue background and Consonants have a red background. It is not necessary to have the letters organized alphabetically, but I have done it here because so many children already sing/learn the ABC song. When doing this activity with your child, try to introduce the letters that emphasizes the difference in their physical construction. Encourage the child to trace the letter several times and repeat the sound of the word. The sounds associated with each letter emphasize the phonetic sound each letter makes. Sound Boards: Emphasizes the different phonetic letter sounds. Child places place holders with the corresponding letter color on the items that begin with that letter sound. Helps with phonetic letter recognition and their association in words. Mathematics Activities: Sandpaper Numbers reinforces number figures in numbers 1-10. Blue and red number rods: Introduces quantity 1-9 and it s corresponding nomenclature. Helps develop number sequencing. Counter Boards: Practice counting and associated quantities.
